Galvan's Red Hot Hot third quarter sends Loyola to Elite eight

Aubrey Galvan is a tough interview.

The difficulty has nothing to do with her behavior. It is only when the Wache of the Star Loyola Academy is a show that is a semiconal event, impressed that the fans are impressed to show their respect.

It was one of these nights on Thursday, February 27th, in Glenbrook North, as Galvan's shimmering 23-point third quarter in the section championship, a Runaway-Ramblers victory of 55-30 in Maine South used in the victory of Ramblers (55-30).

Galvan only had four points and the Hawks had a lead when their outbreak began in the middle of the third quarter. Next came a four -minute barrage on which Galvan had buried the jump shot after the jumping shot.

During the route, Galvan ended with six three-bridges, long two and three free throws in front of the end of the quarter, which brought her team a lead of 46: 28 into the last quarter with the lead.

Despite her cold early shootout, Galvan said she knew that she had to continue to fire, and if she forgot it, her followers, including friends in the crowd, reminded her.

“I know my shot will fall. It is just honest with self -confidence, ”she said. “You can't get to yourself. You cannot concentrate on the negative. If you are in your head from experience, it never works. So I only made sure that this positive attitude is maintained throughout the game. A few of my coaches told me that I should continue to shoot, my teammates told me that I should continue to shoot some of my best friends. ”

Clare Weasler takes the ball into the basket for two Rambler points.

Galvan ended the game with 27 points with 27 points to achieve Loyolas 27th victory in a row after his 6-2 launch.

The Matchup on Thursday was the fourth season in a row that Loyola and Maine South met in the section championship. The Ramblers have now won three of the four Encouter, including the victory of last season on the way to a state championship.

Loyola (33-2) climbs to the IHSA Class 4a Final Eight and will play undefeated Huntley (35: 0) on Monday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the Warren Super sectional.

In front of Galvan's heroicisms on Thursday, the Ramblers hang in the game, even though they exceeded their brand far.

Loyola was at 10: 8 after the first quarter and half-time at 19-17.

Maine South recaptured the tour with a methodical game at the beginning of the third quarter and was in the middle of the quarter under 28: 26.

When Galvan stepped, the Loyola defense also did it. The Ramblers forced seven Hawks sales in the third quarter, and many of these sales brought the ball back to Galvan's hot hands.

“What happens if you turn them around in the press, now they are not well unanimous,” said Schönecker. “Now sprinkle to see where (Galvan). So we love to see if we can turn them around so that they cannot find them, or maybe it is the wrong person who guarded them in this situation. ”

The supportive occupation of the Ramblers came in this regard. Junior Clare Weasler recorded at least 3 steals and a block for 6 points and 4 rebounds, while Marycait Mackie submitted 7 points, 4 rebounds and several distractions.

Senior Emily Bronski made at least 3 steals, including a large swipe, sprint and score in the third quarter. Sophomore Emily Naraky added 6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a block for the Ramblers.

The Loyola Academy Bench celebrates a distraction from Marycait Mackie (23).

Apart from Galvan and the defense, another Changemaker for Loyola was the bank mob for Loyola.

When the Ramblers had difficulty moving, Naraky said that Ramblers held on the bench.

“I think our chemistry and our encouragement really helped us win this game,” she said. “The crowd was incredible for us and we have the best bank in Illinois. We have such a supporting bank and I think that brought us through this game. ”
