Game report: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City | Messages | Official side

Sonia Bombastor claimed her first trophy as Chelsea boss with a highly competitive 2-1 win against Manchester City in the final of the Women's League Cup.

The blues took over an early lead when Mayra Ramirez brought in at close range, but we had to delete a lot of pressure to get a 1-0 advantage into the break.

A moment of Aoba Fujino's brilliance led to city equalization shortly after the hour, but when Yui Hasegawa Ramirez remained with 13 minutes remaining into her own network, we belonged to a first women -Cup Cup Cup Cup in four years.

Four changes

Sonia Bombastor made four changes from the women's FA Cup victory against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Hannah Hampton kept her place in the goal, as did central defender Millie Bright and Nathalie Bjorn and Sandy Baltimore on the left, but Lucy Bronze was again in the right -back.

Sjoeke Nusken joined Erin Cuthbert in the middle, with Johanna Ryting Kaneryd returning on the right and Lauren James. Catarina Macario started behind Ramirez, who was also back in the side after fell on the bench against the palace.

Early tour

Chelsea took the lead after only eight minutes, as a good work of Macario, in order to roll the city's midfielder in her half, hit the ball in the way of Ramirez. The striker's first shot was saved, but the ball recovered from the city defender and back to Ramirez, so she left 1-0 with a simple tap-in.

City had a lot of pressure after the goal and would have rated it in the first half of Nusken, Bright, Baltimore and finally shortly before the interval if it had been in the first half that it was not excellent last-ditch blocks from Nusken, Bright, Baltimore and finally Ramirez.

Hannah Hampton also played her role to bring us forward during the break when she typed Leila Ouahabi's depth around the post and Fujino's powerful drive after a well -worked corner.

However, we should have achieved a second before half -time. Further good work from the impressive Macario helped create the room for James to keep a shot from the next range, but it was too central and easy to save.

And then Ramirez was enforced one to one, but when the striker was slightly wide while she tried to round the goalkeepers, her efforts hit the side.

But since the city enjoyed a lot of pressure and had to refuse the dangerous rabbits Shaw and Vivianne Miedema with target -saving blocks from Baltimore, our opponents would have scored two goals after the break.

The second half started with the attempt to praise Hampon to praise, but the blues were solid at the beginning of the second period of defensive.

And after a world-class pass from Cuthbert, we were very close to scoring a second goal. The Scot threaded the ball in two defenders to select the run into Rytting Kaneryd's box, but Ayaka Yamashita raced out to save.

Then a moment of quality at the other end led to compensation. Fujino defeated a few Chelsea defenders on the way into our box and then hit a shot from the corner of the area, which moved into the air on the way into the near upper corner of Hampton.

City grabbed the lead shortly later. Bronze was expropriated directly outside of our box and after a two-to-two, Shaw was one to one. But Hampton was quickly traveling to make an excellent stop with her outstretched foot.

Our opponents were back at the top and Hampton had to make another rescue to refuse Miedema.

But a double change from Bombastor immediately paid dividends than the blues back.

Not long after the replacement of Maika Hamano played a long time after a long time, another replacement, Beever-Jones, Ramirez played a long way and the striker's low cross was diverted by Hasegawa to her own goal when he tried to clarify under pressure from Hamano.

Beever-Jones then flashed a shot on the almost post when the city's pressure subsided somewhat.

Jill Roord had slightly recorded in the 89th minute, but in the end Chelsea was able to stop comfortably and could have scored a third goal on the counter during the injury, but Wieke Kaptein efforts from the edge were blocked.
