Palm Beach County, FL (Bocanewsnow.com) (Copyright © 2025 Metrodesk Media, LLC) – A main gas break in the Western Palm Beach County leads to a main barrier to the street. The fire brigade rescue from Palm Beach County offered Bocanewsnow.com this note:

>> This afternoon at 4:30 a.m. PBCFR units for crossing the County Road 827 and the US 27 in West -Palm Beach County were sent to achieve a registered gas leak. 911 callers stated that the workers could meet an underground line and escape the gas. PBCFR units arrived on site to find a large gas main leak with dirt, gas and ruins that blow about 30 feet in the air.

After advice with the FPU, a large, long tear was confirmed in a 6 -inch high -pressure metal gas line. This type of gas line cannot be clamped. The gas line must be mapped, the remaining pressure must be released, and then the FPU can dig out the damaged metal tube, dig up and replace. The US 27 is currently closed in both directions from SR 80 in South Bay to the Broward County Line. The FPU brings resources from the state to repair the line, but it is expected that this is a lengthy process.

US 27 remains closed for traffic until the gas line can be switched off and bled. It will be opened again as soon as there is no gas in the line. It is recommended to stay free throughout the evening and until night/morning hours so that repair workers can concentrate on their activities. There can be additional periodic closures by us 27 if repairs are carried out. Fortunately, no injuries are reported.
