Gaseck causes road closures, large travel delays in Montgomery County

According to the Montgomery County police authority in Montgomery County, a gas leak solved big travel delays on Tuesday in Montgomery County.

Officials said that a two-inch gas line had been hit, which led to the closure of the 4200 block of the Montgomery Lane between Pearl Drive and East West Highway.

The Senior Director of Utilities Communications with Washington Gas, Andre Francis, sent with an explanation to 7News:

“We received the call shortly before 11:30 a.m. that one of our distribution of third parties causes damage as a result of the excavation. We received confirmation from our crews at 12:45 p.m. to cut gas to carry out repairs. No evacuations reported.”

The gas supply of the nearby buildings was temporarily switched off, while the crews of Montgomery County Fire Rescue (MCFR) rated the gas leak, said MCFR.
