General accuses the defense of the defense of the Kharkiv, which was released from the detention center, says lawyer

The Kyiv Court of Appeal has released Lieutenant General Artur Horbenko from a prison and housed it until March 20 under house arrest, the online newspaper Ukrainer Pravda reported on February 27, citing his lawyer Maksym Tkhorivsky.

Horseko, together with General Yurii Halushkin and Colonel Illia Lapin, was arrested on January 21 for misguided Ukrainian defense in Kharkiv During the cross -border offensive Russia in May 2024.

Horbenko is suspected of negligence in military service.

The Ukraine Security Service (SBU) accused the three officials not to properly attach the region and to use all available resources to defend the Russian armed forces.

Russia's offensive in the northeast of Kharkiv Oblast recorded rapid progress of several kilometers, which led the criticism of military and regional leadership for inadequate defense preparations.

Although the Ukrainian armed forces finally started Russian progress around 25 kilometers north of Kharkiv, the initial violation raised concerns about strategic failures.

Halushkin was accused of assigning inadequate defensive positions to the 125th brigade of the territorial defense, which was under the command of Horbenko and provided insufficient artillery and air support.

While Horbenko stays under house arrest, the status of the other detained officers remains unchanged.

Russian troops “stuck” near Pokrovsk, Ukrainian military claims

“I do not say that the Ukrainian armed forces have a second, third or 100th and 500th breath … but Russian troops have actually started to show physical, moral and material exhaustion,” said Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Khortytsia group of Ukraine forces.
