Georgia Basketball taps March with NCAA -Bubble battle in Texas

Georgia defeated the Gators on Tuesday evening with 88-83 and invited a rare judicial storming of Stegeman Coliseum.

The Bulldogs and Longhorns (16-12, 5-10) are located in very similar positions with three second games. Apart from the identical conference recordings, Georgia and Texas both stand at the height of the NCAA tournament and need a few more victories to consolidate a place.

ESPN's latest Brackology could not have brought them closer. Texas was performed this week as the last team in the tournament, while Georgia was performed immediately afterwards, the first team.

Both teams went 2: 5 in February and both annoyed teams. The Longhorns beat 10 days before the Bulldogs plunged the gators.

In the near future, both crimes will be led by Neuling superstars with NBA selection in the first round. Striker Asa Newell leads UGA with 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while Shooting Guard Tre Johnson Texas leads with 20.9 points per game at 39.1% 3-point shooting.

Johnson was classified as No. 5 of ESPN in his latest top 100 as the NBA perspective of ESPN. Newell was classified as No. 20.

Johnson will test perimeter defender like Silas Demary Jr., Blue Cain and Tyrin Lawrence with his elite shooting and 6-6, 190 pound frame. The former all-American McDonald's is also an impressive agent who, on average, the second most common templates of Texas per game (2.6).

“They carry out many actions for him, so they exert a lot of pressure on defense,” said Uga coach Mike White. “They put good screens to him. You also have pretty good passers -by who find him. He is fearless, he has a quick, high publication and a nice stroke. “

Demary will search for the kind of offensive output he had on Tuesday when he led the Bulldogs with 21 points to 4-of-6 shootout behind the bow. The second guard has achieved an average of 19.8 points in the last five games from UGA.

Uga can give his curriculum vitae against the Longhorns a fourth quad -1 victory because the Bulldogs play a top 75 network team on the street.

Texas represents Georgia's last quad 1 site in front of the Sec tournament. Uga ends the regular season with a trip to the load space in South Carolina before a strong Vanderbilt team with medium pack organizes.

The Bulldogs are 0-7 this season in the SEC street games. The only loss of unranged conference road came with a defeat of 66-63 in Arkansas, a team that has now been set up in the NCAA tournament field.

Uga looked much better in his last street game, a defeat of 82-70 in 1st place. The bulldogs were two minutes at 70-65 before the upper tiger withdrew.

“I really liked our approach to Auburn, how he played, how we were locked up, our resilience,” said White. “We have to do a lot of it to succeed in Texas.”

Georgia is 2-0 ever against Texas. The Bulldogs defeated the Longhorns twice in Athens in 2017 and 2019.

According to Vegasinsider, the bulldogs are 5.5-point outsiders.
