Steve Willis, experienced boxing referee, started with the counter, but inexplicably stopped.

As such, no knockdown was ruled for Roachs's favor – which would have changed the result on the cards.

A judge scored the fight 115-113 for Davis with the other two 114-114.

Roach rages: “If you voluntarily take a knee and the referee does not count, this is a knockdown.

“If that's a knockdown, I win the fight.”

The New York State Athletic Commission has now confirmed that they are checking the fight.

They claim that technical problems have prevented immediate repetitions during the controversial ninth round.

In an explanation it says: “During the round in question, after the Commission's request, there was a technical problem after the repeat video that prevents the Commission from receiving it within the assigned time for the review.

“Therefore, the referee's decision was based on and the fight continued.

“The Commission endeavors to maintain the integrity of the combative sport and is committed to working with all advertising campaigns and production teams – on behalf of the athletes, civil servants and fans – to ensure that technical problems do not occur in the future that prevent the provision of Ring -SsoForth repetition regulations to the commission officials if necessary.”

There is a possibility that Willis' call could be lifted retrospectively according to the ring magazine.

After the competition, Davis claims that he had taken a knee because the fat had entered his eye from his hair.

He said from the crowd to Boos: “I just done my hair two days ago and she put fat in my s ***.

“So the s *** was like sweating and things like that and the fat in my face.

“It burned my eyes. Type S ***, yes. Damn it, why are you boring, as if I were to say bulls ***?

“How, these are real facts. Come on, man. Look at my hair, I just made my S ***.

“But it's all cool, man. You know how it will be. They love you, then hate you. Tend yourself around, then they love you again.”

Despite Davis' reasoning, Terence Crawford believes with four weights that Roach was “robbed”.

He wrote about X: “Roach won and that should have been called a knockdown.

“I [have] I have never taken someone a knee and he doesn't count it as a knockdown. “
