Gervonta davis

Gervonta Davis (30-0 with 28 Knockouts) won the IBF Junior Lightweight title in his 17th professional fight and achieved a TKO victory in the seventh round against José Pedraza in 2017. Then, in 2019, the fighter born in Baltimore moved in a light weight to fight against Yuriorgi's Gamboa for the Free WBA title (regular). Davis won this competition from TKO in the 12th round. Davis then defeated Leo Santa Cruz in 2020 with a knockout of the sixth round in a scrap that was super Featherweight for the WBA Lightweight and WBA. In December 2021, Davis started after a TKO via Mario Barrios in June 2021 Isaac Cruz for the WBA Lightweight belt. This competition went 12 rounds, with Davis winning by unanimous decision. Davis has been 4-0 since the victory against Cruz and defeats Rolando Romero, Hector Garcia, Ryan Garcia and most recently Frank Martin Per Knockout.

Davis and Roach were originally booked in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, but this fight was postponed in November and moved to New York. Davis was in conversations with Vasiliy Lomachenko, but this fight never came into play.

Davis vs. cockroach breaks

Davis does an excellent job with its forehand as a probe. With this hand he judges distance and at the same time tries to distract his opponent. Then when Davis has the position he wants, he invites you to power. Davis can be counted when he lets his probe hang, but he has the speed and the clever to counteract his opponent's counter. However, this is a risky offer, and not one on which a fighter should consistently score a goal. Davis is also very good at pulling out his opponent with fins. Look for the champion to use Level changes to get your opponent to bite these movements to get information about timing and tendencies so that he can achieve the head or body with power punches.

When it comes to defense, Davis has a remarkable speed. He uses several opponents so that his opponents can pay for their missed crime.

It is no secret that the choice in this fight is Davis to win over Knockout. He could score this stop by catching Roach when he is doing to achieve a power punch. Another possibility of how Davis could score is that Roach can rise with little concern about defense nearby.

Roach fights behind a more active push than Davis, but he uses the main hand in a similar way. The problem for Roach in this matchup is that it does not have the power of the lightweight champions. Roach could be successful with his impact, especially if he uses it to counteract Davis's probes. Roach has to be aware of Davis' Finten. His best bet in these moments is to get out of the reach, but he cannot withdraw on a straight line.

Roachs main power switch is his uppercut. This technique is extremely effective when it ends up when Roach misses, but it is open to a counter. Roach cannot leave his head outside for a power puncher like Davis.

Davis is two centimeters shorter than Roach. This means that Roach has the chance to catch Davis when he enters his bumps, which he tends because of his size. Roach has to be aware of this because Davis does not bring too much time out of balance in these situations. In other words, he knows what he's doing in these moments and makes up for his lack of size with the defense.
