Gilbert family says that dad was arrested by ice

Gilbert, AZ (Azfamily) – A Gilbert family was arrested in her neighborhood by Eis without her father after saying that he was arrested on Tuesday.

Alonzo Zavala Barajas said his father lived for almost 23 years without papers in the United States. He started a life with his wife and two children in Gilbert and managed to keep the law enforcement and immigration agents away. But that changed on the morning of February 25th.

“At this moment. It felt quiet. It felt deafening. It felt like I was alone, ”said Barajas.

He said his father left the work when several law enforcement vehicles drove up in front of their house and brought his father to the Florence Internet camp.

A new report published by Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse shows that ICE has now detained more than 43,000 people. This has been the highest level of detention since November 2019.

The report also shows that ICE is responsible for more than half of the arrests compared to customs and border protection. Of these arrests, over 50% have no criminal records, including Barajas Dad.

“Everyone earns a chance. Why do they tear families apart? We should have the chance to live as freely as everyone else, ”said Barajas.

When the Trump administration hits illegal immigration, those like Barajas said that they were wondering why ordinary working families are targeted instead of hardened criminals.

The Arizona family turned to comment to comment on this special case, but we still have to hear back.

The family recently founded a gofundme to help with legal costs. You can find more information here.
