Come on! Great intervention by Taibi to prevent the Bruges striker from reaching the goal with ease, little by little they begin to weave dangerous plays looking to reach the rival area and thus shoot at goal.

Incredible! Christos Tzolis was looking to get into the opponent’s box to cross dangerously into the area, however, a good save from Ollie Watkins ended up helping his team because the ball left the field of play without the striker touching it.

It didn’t happen! Great saves from Sabbe and Ordóñez, both players blocked Aston Villa’s attack and prevented it from going towards goal in search of the second goal for the visiting English team, who want to add more.

Nothing for anyone. The second half of this match started off very divided, with both teams wanting to take possession of the ball to start creating danger in the opponent’s goal, but neither team has yet managed to keep it.

The second half has begun. The ball is already rolling for the second half at the Jan Breydel, with both teams looking to decide a winner of this first match in order to be in better shape for the return leg of this round of 16.

Half-time. The first half of this match has come to an end. It was a very close duel between both teams where they did not stop fighting for the ball, and most of the game was played in the middle of the pitch.

He’s gone! After a good pass to Digne, Watkins appeared with a tremendous header at goal, but he moved his head too much and his shot went wide of the goal, in addition to being taken out of the area by the defense, they begin to wake up.

It can’t be! Taibi was looking for De Cuyper inside the area to shoot at goal, but the ball was rejected with force and the ball did not want to go in under any of the three posts, Bruges continued to insist.

Rashford and company are still looking for their second of the night, however the home defence is already quite attentive, fighting and clearing every ball that appears within the risk zone of the goal guarded by Mignolet.

Prior to this first game, Nick Hayen spoke to the media: “We prepare for every game in the same way, whether it is in our domestic competitions or in the Champions League. A lot will depend on the first leg. They have lost seven of their last nine away games, but Aston Villa are still unbeaten in 14 home games, so we have to aim to win there.”
