Hagel -Ui -Digest | Nebraska football looks ahead, somehow | 18.03.25

Nebraska Football earned no respect for Missouri.

After her eight -story victory in 1994 in Columbia, the third -party Huskers of unexpected and associated press in Lincoln in Colorado was played in Colorado.

But they got no respect for Missouri, who had lost 38-23 against Colorado, also at home.

Oh yes, did I mention the end result of the Nebraska game? It was 42-7. Missouri only met in the middle of the fourth quarter after the Huskers had scored four touchdowns.

Despite it …

“I think it's totally a Colorado game” Sunday journal and star. “Everything that someone can think about is how this game could have been 14-7 at the beginning of the second half, and that would have done a completely different game.”

Could be 14-7? Seriously? Missouri never came closer to the end zone in the first half than the 38-yard line from Nebraska, and this was immediately wiped out by a 5-yard penalty.

The Huskers had 211 meters of a crime for Missouris 90.

Of course, Nebraska would have a problem with an offensive injury. The quarterback from Backup, Matt Turman, suffered a shoulder injury late in the game when he was hit when he went outside the bounds. Turman had remained Brook Berringer through 4 minutes. Berringer returned for a piece and was then replaced by the first semester.

Berringer's health was the most important with Colorado.

Berringer completed 9-of-15 passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns, 1 yard, to split Brenden Holbein, and 43 yards to share Reggie Baud.

I-Back Lawrence Phillips hurried for 122 yards and the first touchdown at 22 Carries. I-Back Clinton Childs hurried 65 meters on six carrying, and I-Back Damon Benning ran for two touchdowns.

Phillips tied the Husker record of Bobby Reynolds (1950), in eight games in a row to start a season and brought his season to 1,233 yards.

Nebraska ended with 482 yards, including 330 rushing, although the option was not used to protect Berringer. Without the option, the Husker crime was not really the Husker offensive, even without a frank, a better runner than Berringer -although Berringer had a 4.6 speed in the 40.

Berringer was the better passerby of the two. Trainer Tom Osborne had described him as potentially the best pure passerby that Nebraska ever had. “Brook can do anything,” said Osborne. “But we wanted to survive the game without being injured.

As for the black shirts, they limited Missouri to 198 Yards, including 48 rushing. Linebacker Ed Stewart and Troy Dumas ran their way with eight duels each. Cornerback Barron Miles caught his fourth pass of the season, and Nebraska dismissed Jeff three times.

Husker defense was without Terry Connealy, which fails with flu-like symptoms.

Nebraska's “Best Offensive is his defense”, Missouri defensive guard Steve Martin was quoted in the Sunday journal and star. “Colorado has a better running game and they have over.”

According to Martin, the Huskers were “not impressive”. “Everything you did was a game effect that caught us looking for the run,” said Martin.
