The Hamilton Southastern School takes time to remember Mason Alexander's life, a Star soccer player who lost in a tragic life in a car accident at the weekend.

In response to the tragedy, the Hamilton Southeasters Schools activated a crisis reaction team to support those affected by the loss of 18-year-old Mason Alexander. On Monday, students and faculties held a vigil in his memory of the balloon release on the soccer field.

“I want to be in the NFL,” said Alexander last Wednesday during the comments. “I would like to be able to represent coach Sanders and Coach Archie as the best corner that could make it.”

Alexander was a beloved student and football player on the Hamilton Southeasters High School (HSE). He completed in January and played football at the University of Pittsburgh. He tragically lost his life in a car accident on Saturday evening.

The Hamilton County's sheriff office says that Alexander was a passenger in a BMW on Saturday evening. They say that the BMW tried to pass another vehicle, switch to oncoming traffic and hit a Toyota Rav4. Both vehicles turned off the street. The Toyota hit a mailbox and the BMW hit a tree and caught fire. Alexander died at the scene.

“Mason was fantastic! He was, ”said Jayden Whorton, Wide Receiver Coach at HSE. “In every room he will enter, he will certainly light it. With his smile, his present and his energy relationship. “

The loss was deeply influenced by the Hamilton Southeasters Community, with the classmates gathering on the crash location on Sunday to prove their respect. One of his coaches announced that he will always be remembered for his leadership and friendliness on and off the field.

“He didn't speak a crap,” said Whorton. “You tell him what to do and he does it. He was a very trainable and respectful person. I am a younger coach, and since I came here, they have greeted me with open arms. In the field he was a leader and a man among boys. “

When students and families arrived on campus, the atmosphere of such a sudden loss was pretty dark. The Hamilton Southeasters Community published over 2,000 balloons, all in the colors of the royal blue, yellow and white.

News 8 spoke to the sports director and head coach of Hamilton Southeasters, who said that they are still working all weekend. They do not describe him as the greatest man, but one with the biggest smile.

“There are people out here who know Mason and his family or just want to be part of something,” said Jim Self, sports director at HSE. “I am grateful for that. I am sure that it means a lot for the family and for us as a school and community to preserve this kind of support for this young man. “

“I remember that he came in as a newcomer. He wasn't the biggest guy, but he had the biggest smile, ”said Michael Kelly, head coach at HSE. “Just a great young man. He brought joy to a room. He was a guy who was this fun -loving person who had never had bad days except in the early morning, he didn't like that, but outside of it he was the life of the room. “

After the publication of the other balloons, family and students remained in this difficult and dark time to comfort each other. They also took the time to pray for healing together.
