Hanceville tables vote on the future of PD; Employees of the city clerk who receives murder threats from the alleged criminal companies

Hanceville's city council agreed on Thursday to determine whether the Hanceville police department will be dissolved.

The consideration of the department of a Grand Jury is carried out after the devastating review. After the examination, the chief of police, four officials and the wife of an officer were charged in a corruption case.

The Grand Jury found that a lack of leadership, surveillance and negligent training and attitude to the allowance of crimes and ultimately led to the death of a dispatcher by drug overdose. In an indictment, it was stated that the department worked as a criminal company.

Christopher Michael Willingham was found dead in his office last August, and an investigation showed that an unsecured evidence space of Willingham gave access to the drugs.

After the Grand Jury recommended the dissolution of the police authority, all employees were transferred to administrative leave.

The council meeting on Thursday was packed when the public members asked the council.

After criticism, the city clerk Tania Wilcox was taken to the microphone and said that the city officials have been threatening for months, but she is “tired of being quiet”. She said she received threats from other officials, including a former police chief and a deputy boss.

“I threatened my life with what was going on in this police department,” said Wilcox. “I knew her for many years and was completely deceptive for a while and thought that you were good people who did a good job until I knew that they violated the law. And I said: 'No, that's not right and I won't do that.' At that time I became the most hated woman and the city worker in Hanceville.

Wilcox said that some current police authority employees have summarized the action to get rid of her and do something to her. She said that untrue accusations were made against her. She said these things happened to her because the activity involved in criminal activities know that she will not allow them to get through with it.

Mayor Per Tem Kim Brown said that not all officials in Hanceville are bad, but she knows that the council has a responsibility.

“Trust was broken and we have to find a way to bridge it and how this city can progress as a city and council,” said Brown.

On March 10, March 10, the Hanceville Civic Center will take place.

The Cullman County's Sheriff has taken over the law enforcement tasks in Hanceville. Inmates in prison were taken to Cullman County's prison.
