Hawaii's first girl -Flaggen -Foot season for the girl's flags is ready to get on the way

Honolulu (Hawaiinewsnow) -It is a milestone week for the Hawaii High School Athletics because the first football season of the state of Girls Flag football begins.

At the weekend, the Hawaii High School Athletic Association and Seattle Seahawks organized two clinics before the upcoming opening season.

“It is a great feeling to know that you know that you are starting something new, especially since it is a new sport,” said Campbell Saber's quarterback and security Alexiis Amanonce-Feliciano.

Around 1,000 girls from almost 60 public and private schools are expected to play the historical first season.

The practices start this week and the year culminates with a 12-team state tournament at the end of April.

Hawaii is now only the 12th state that sanctioned the sport at the high school level, and it rises.

According to the USA Flag, over 100 Colleges Flag football programs could offer programs in three years.
