Helena Valley buildings destroyed by fire, two pets dead

Helena – On Tuesday at 5:14 a.m., fire brigades from all over Helena Valley and in the department of Lewis and Clark Sheriff reacted to a structural fire with reports on explosions about Chief Joseph Road in Helena.

The first reports showed that there was a building on fire and people heard explosions.

A structure was completely burned into the ground, while another building was badly damaged. Both are considered total losses. Two pets, a dog and a cat died in the fire.

West Valley Fire Rescue together with East Valley VfD, Tri-Lakes VfD, Helena FD, Montana City VfD, Baxendale VfD were all fire brigades that reacted this morning.

According to David Hamilton David Hamilton from West Valley, the reported explosions were most likely propane tanks that were stored in the structure. He described the building as a shop and a barn with a small living area.

The cause of the fire is examined.
