Heroic Games Launcher V2.16 published with improved Steam -deck / Linux play compatibility

Heroic Games Launcher continues to develop into an even more impressive, cross -platform player for GOG, Epic Games, Amazon Prime and more, with V2.16 achieving some great improvements.

For people who use it under Linux / Steam Deck, there are some good compatibility improvements. For the beginning, the UMU project is now the default setting. This is a uniform way to carry out Windows games with Proton outside of Steam, including various automatic corrections that are used. This also changes the compatibility layer in GE-Proton, from the wine that has now not been obtained.

There is a ridiculous amount of other changes, which makes it “one of our greatest publications so far”.

Some other highlights include:

  • ENV variables in known corrections: Adjust the game corrections with ambient variables in order to obtain better compatibility.
  • Start arguments about URLS: Give game arguments directly via protocol -URLs for an optimized start.
  • Steam Shortcuts for uninstalled games: Add Steam linking for games that you have not yet installed.
  • Anti-cheat protocol: Anti-cheat details are now displayed in protocols to simplify the troubleshooting.
  • Gamescope “Force Grab Cursor” Toggle: prevent cursor escapes in full screen games.
  • Improvements by GOG Game Setup.
  • DXVK-NVAPI for the NVIDIA GPU users under Linux activated by default.
  • + Different UI improvements and other smaller updates.
