Hicks Cemetery Fire Burns 194 Acres in Haywood County, 50% included

The Hicks Cemetery Fire in the Pisgah National Forest has now reached about 194 tomorrow and is 50% included, confirmed the US forest service.

The fire that burns in Pigeon River's gorge suffered winds of over 20 miles per hour on Tuesday evening and possibly pushed the embers via established containment lines.

The recent rain helped with the efforts of several forest fires that burn in the North Carolinas National Forests.
