High quality winds start fire in East Iowa

Johnson County, Iowa (KCRG) – Many field fires broke out on Friday due to high wind speeds. Winds reached 60 miles per hour in some places.

One was between Iowa City and Hills in Johnson County.

A firefighter from Hills announced TV9 that the fire started because the owner illuminated a small wooden fire three days earlier.

The fireman said that when the owner wanted to check it on Friday, the fire seemed to be fine, but it started the fire.
