Historical restaurant buildings in Commerce City

The South Adams County fire brigade examines after a fire has badly damaged an abandoned historical restaurant building in Commerce City.

As firefighters at 3:55 a.m. on Sunday around 3:55 a.m. near 55 and Colorado Boulevard, they found heavy fire, smoke and intensive heat from the building. Adams County Fire Rescue and Platte Valley Ambulance Service also reacted to the scene to help.

The building was the former house of the 6 & 85 Restaurant & Lounge from Deno. The truck station, which was one of the oldest in Colorado, was closed in 2017.

The authorities said that the building was not occupied and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains examined.
