Hobbs Fire Marshals office examines the death of the fire on Thursday evening

Hobbs, NM (press release) – On February 27, 2025, the fire brigade staff of the Hobbs Fire Department was sent to the Block of the North Mobile Street from 1900 in Hobbs in relation to a call from a residence.

Fire staff arrived and started an initial attack on a working structure tax. The fire was limited to a single bedroom, and the firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames without further incidents.

When firefighters have completed a primary search in the residence, they found an unconscious and non -reacting man with injuries in a bedroom in the background. The man was identified as a 65-year-old Hector Jasso von Hobbs. The bedroom, in which Mr. Jasso was, was not affected by the fire. Fire staff started life -saving measures. He was brought to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Hobbs Fire Marshal office works in connection with the Hobbs police authority to examine this incident.
