Hot info

Holo is a decentralized peer-to-peer platform that is equipped with the DAPPS created with Holochain, an alternative to blockchain technology. The purpose of Holo is to bridge conventional internet and holochain-built dapps and offer an accessible ecosystem and a marketplace for these DAPPs. With Holo, these apps can be hosted on the Internet via network participants so that they can become more accessible to everyday users.

The Holo network works via hosts that deliver storage and computing power for DAPPS based on Holochain. These hosts can perform the Holo software on their computers or dedicated devices such as holoports and contribute excess processing performance for DAPPS. In return, they earn Holofuel, a token developed for microtransactions. Holofuel should support a high transaction volume so that the Holo network can efficiently process billions of simultaneous transactions.

Holo initially issued an ERC 20 token in 2018, which is also known as Holotoken Cots. This token acts as a “iOU” and can be replaced at the start of Holofuel. Hot serves to complete Holofuel, which is the main currency of the Holo network and compensates for the hosts for their services. Holo's sales model is based on the transaction fees of Holofuel, whereby the growth of the network has a direct impact on holos.
