Hoover's celebration for Arbor Day 2025 will take place this Saturday, March 1st

The Hoover beautification authority is organizing its annual Arbor Day celebration in Aldridge Gardens from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The city gives away trees on the basis first, while the supplies as components. The trees include BaldCypress, River Birke, Overcup Oak, Blackgum, Hazelnut, confectionery Magnolia, sugar maple, red mulberry and eastern Redbuds.

The mayor of Hoover, Frank Brocato, plans to read a proclamation at Arbor Day in a ceremony around 8:15 a.m. There will also be activities and craft for children (including a large number of educational providers).

The participating groups include the 4-H clubs, Wild Birds Unlimited, Wild Alabama, Hoover Girl Scout Troop #467, Hoover Green Teams, Cahaba River Society, Hoover Historical Society, Shelby County Master Gardeners, Oak Mountain Wildlife Center, Alabama Hordrangea Society, veterans, Veteran Association, Dahlia Society of Alabama, Alabama Audubon Society, Freshwater Land Trust, Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service & Master Gardeners, Cool Greens Trees, Cahaba Riverkeeper and the Birmingham Bonsai Society.

Southern Coffee & Waffles is said to have its food truck there, and the Book Mobile of the Hoover Public Library should also be there.
