House fire in Tumalo displaces family of eight years, causes damage of 1.4 million US dollars

A devastating house fire broke out in the 64420 Research RD this morning and displaced a family of eight and her dog. The flame that started around midnight was discovered by the smoke detectors of the house so that the couple and his six children could escape unscathed.

When the residents heard the alarms, they discovered their veranda and the entire front appearance of their house devoured themselves. The fire quickly spread to a bedroom on the second floor and in the attic. Firefighters managed to contain the fire within 45 minutes.

The incident occurred shortly after power was restored to the neighborhood after a failure. The cause of the fire is currently being examined.

Bend Fire & Rescue emphasized how important it is to have functional smoke detectors and an experienced escape plan for families. “This could have been a completely different result,” she said and asked the residents to ensure that their security measures are available.

The fire led to a total loss of the building and its content, with damage to around 1.4 million US dollars being estimated.
