How to check whether your personal data is leaked free of charge – free of charge

Data distribution are basically an everyday reality of modern life. If you have an e -mail – it's out there, or so we have learned to think. Every small app, every service and every platform for which you log in most likely has a leak or a violation of one or two times. Or worse – some more shaded companies may sell their details to data brokers. In most cases there are protective measures, so the worst thing that bad actors can do is receive their e -mail address. Not ideal, but not (still) the end of the world. Nevertheless, it is a good idea to be up to date with these things – to know when a violation happened and what exactly was compromised.

Fortunately, SurfShar's abundance of security tools also contain a data violation alarm as part of the affordable SurfShark One package. It is even better that you can carry out a short Surfshark -Alarm -Scan for free and see exactly what the service monitors and what it can do for you before you have ever committed yourself to anything.

Surfshark Alert – The data monitor

Surfshark is no longer just a VPN service. Certainly and privacy in the core of the company's values, it has developed several tools with which they remain anonymous and distract hackers, phisher or simply spammer from your phone and e -mail (see SurfShark Alternated ID). The data lick tester is part of the SurfShark One Package and can help you find out whether a certain E -Mail address is leaked through. You can initiate a scan manually, but as soon as SurfShark alarm contains your details, it is ensured that you always match a violation.

SurfShark Data Leak Checker Free Scan

The SurfShark Alert website is accessible free of charge. Simply enter your E -Mail address and you will receive all the information that SurfShark has for the latest violations -including what is leaked through. It could only be the e -mail, which is not bad. It could be your hashed password (only the number of characters) – ok well. I just found that a few websites have leaked my full passwords and a few more – my IP address. Not great! You can only see the top 9 results for free, but that should be good enough to show you how SurfShark Alert works, what it can do for you and you can decide whether you need it.

A two-year subscription for Surfshark One has a bonus of +3 months and costs $ 72.63 in the amount of BI. Annually ($ 2.69 per month). This includes the full SurfShark -VPN service with servers in more than 100 countries, dynamic multihop, which is constantly going to another location, and without limiting the devices on an account. In addition, you will receive an alternative ID to falsify your own email if you register with random websites, antiviruses on the VPN server, no search queries and the above surfhark alarm.

SurfShark One+ adds to Incogni – the service with which you can scrub your data from the libraries of the data brokers as soon as you are (inevitably) leaked.

What to do when my data is leaked?

If the data leak tester indicates that your information has been impaired, take the following actions into account:

  • Change passwords: Update the passwords for those affected immediately. Do not use the same password for several services, platforms and apps.
  • If possible, activate the two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Monitoring: Nowadays, banks are quite vigilant about suspicious transactions. But it is more than a good idea to keep an eye on your statements yourself. Contact your bank immediately if you notice something suspicious.
  • Stay vigilant: it goes without saying, but always twice as much email that claim to come from an official service and you have to enter or change your password. In 99% of cases it is a phishing attempt.
  • Use Incogni to request data brokers, to delete everything you have about you
