“How to let your car be keyed”

Just when they thought that advertising could not become more intrusive, you appear in a parked car outside of your apartment. At least that happened with a tenant when an ultramillumed LED advertising at night flashed out of the car of a neighbor outside of her window.

On the R/Mildlyinfuriating Subreddit, the tenant has published a photo of the car with an outdoor LED screen in his passenger window.

“A car with advertising screens in the window is parked in front of my apartment,” the Redditor labeled the photo.

Colleagues Reddit users were also worried by the intrusive and dirty -guerrilla advertising tactics.

“Oh, damn it!” A commentator just wrote.

“How to let your car coast-100% success rate,” added another commentator sarcastic.

Similar mobile LED ads have unfortunately gained popularity in recent years, which was caused too much controversy and frustration of the driver. However, the displays are often located on large box trucks, not on passenger vehicles.

While there are obvious security concerns regarding the ultramillumed screens for other drivers, there are also environmental concerns on these mobile LED displays. Due to the continuous performance of an LED mobile advertising, gallons of dirty fuel spreads unnecessarily. In addition, these illuminated ads are a textbook source for light pollution – the excessive use of artificial light that illuminates the night sky, as Darksky International explains.

The National Park Service reports that light pollution is particularly harmful to insects and wild animals and that natural instincts and circadian rhythms confuse. According to Darksky, however, light pollution also harms people and contributes to a variety of negative health effects.

Even more frustration in the situation is the fact that such an advertisement often promotes excess consumption, a core cause for the pollution of planets. It can often feel that notes that promote more and more things are inevitable -and maybe they are when LED displays are now in car windows.

While there are laws that dictate how bright on the roadside, these laws are usually due to their distracting nature. Mobile advertising boards, however, ran the current laws completely by constantly in motion. However, illegally bright advertising boards of all kinds can always be reported to the local or state motorway department – and should probably be the safety of the drivers and the future of the planet.
