How Trump Doctor Yankees used to start his career

Dr. Mehmet OZ, President Donald Trump's election to lead the centers for Medicare and Medicaid, will testify on Friday before the Senate Finance Committee.

The agency has an annual expenditure of 2.6 trillion dollars and monitors the healthcare system of more than half of the Americans.

OZ, a cardiothoracic surgeon, was the host of Dr. Oz Show “13 Seasons and became a national importance under the examination of the merger of controversial health recommendations. Oz rose through his show, and part of his fame began with a connection to the New York Yankees.

When Eric Rose was the chairman of the surgical department in New York Presbyterian in the 1990s, he commissioned OZ to his transplant team. When Frank Torre, the brother of the then Yankees manager Joe Torre, needed a heart transplant in 1996, Rose headed the operation and OZ was his deputy. Rose told New York in 2013 that it was Oz '”the first great splash of advertising and he loved it”.

The “Dr. Oz Show ”started in 2009 and was criticized for many recommendations based on questionable scientific evidence.

“I would like to emphasize that Mehmet is a good surgeon,” said Rose in the 2013 interview. “He is intellectually incredibly talented. But I think if there is criticism that you can apply to some of the things he speaks about is that there is no hierarchy of evidence. There is rarely the alternatives. You have acquired a market and that drives so much. Sometimes I think that Mehmet feeds it in that. “
