Humphrey destroys record books as a big ten indoor long jump champion

Indianapolis – The athletics teams for men and women in Illinois ended the first day of the big ten indoor championships on Friday (February 28th) from the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavillion. Tacoria Humphrey Severed several long jump records, including the records of the big ten, school and big ten indoor championships on the way to their title victory 6.94 m (22-9 1/4).

Humphrey becomes the first Illini Long Pulloper (sixth individual in the program history), who has surpassed the B1G Indoor Podium for 18 years since Yvonne Mensah did in 2007.

Sophia Beckmon Earn silver in the long jump with its 6.60 m (21-8) jump to a two-two finish for the Illini. Morgan Smalls Fifth (6.31 m (20-8 1/2)) and Darja Sopova Seventh (6.12 m (20-1) placed to absorb half of the podium.

Phethisang Makhethe earned a big ten-indoor championship in silver medal in the weight throw with its 23.02 m (76-6 1/4) litter. Jordan Kosondy Moved to the NCAA indoor championships qualifying position with its 22.28 m (73-1 1/4) shell, which today brought in their fifth in the competition, and it is the second best throw in school history.
