Huskies celebrate the senior day stylishly with a blowout victory against Marquette

Hartford, CT (WFSB) – It was Senior Day in Storrs for the Uconn women's basketball team of the Uconn.

Gampel Pavilion was full to celebrate her huskies and send her four seniors stylishly. Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen, Aubrey Griffin and Azzi Fudd were all honored with their families, and the joyful occasion took the stage for a fun afternoon.

The defense of Uconn stated the tone in the first quarter and created all types of problems for Marquette. The huskies forced the Golden Eagles to shoot the ball more than ten times in the first quarter, and the huskies made all these additional possessions the most. Uconn led around half of 20 and won 92-57.

Paige Bueckers was in the first half with 17 of her 19 points. Azzi Fudd added 12 points to the Huskies cause. Aubrey Griffin shot 5-6 from the field and scored 11 points.

Although this day was for the seniors, the superstar newcomer from Huskies, Sarah Strong, felt her presence with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Sarah Strong scored her 17th point and became the 5th Uconn newcomer in the program history and scored 500 points during her first season.

This victory extends the Huskies victory to seven games and improves your record to 28: 3 in the season with a perfect record in Big East. Next for Uconn is the Big East Conference tournament, which begins next weekend in the Mohegan Sun Arena.
