IGP confirms radio hosts that are examined under criminal law because he allegedly mocked Hinduism, six symptoms were submitted

Kuala Lumpur, March 4, received six reports of a viral video in which three radio moderators from an astro ownership station were mocked a religious ritual.

General Inspector of the police Tan Srazarudin Husain said that one of the reports was submitted by a 44-year-old engineer who came across the video on Facebook.

“The complainant claimed that several people were seen how she called 'Vel Vel' while another person danced. He submitted the report when the video content regarded as racist sensitivity and mocked the Hindu religion, ”he said when he was contacted today.

Razarudin said that the police tests found that the radio station removed the video.

“The video brought 95,400 views and 204 shares before it was decreased,” he added.

The case is examined in accordance with Section 298 of the Criminal Code for actions that cause disharmony, disagreement or hostility, hatred or bad will for religious reasons as well as § 233 of the communication and multimedia law of 1998 for the improper use of network institutions or services.

The people involved have published an official apology on the Facebook page of ERA FM.

Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil previously said that the Malaysian Commission and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had been instructed to carry out a detailed investigation of the incident.

Astro and the management of the radio station were called to the MCMC headquarters to provide a complete explanation.

In the meantime, the management of the radio station, Astro Audio, announced that the three radio moderators – Nabil Ahmad, Azad Jasmin and Radin – were broadcast until the internal examination of broadcast.

Astro Audio regretted regret about the incident and confirmed his commitment to seriously tackling the matter. – Bernama
