Illinois athletics broadcasts 15 individual qualifiers to NCAA indoor championships

Champaign, Ill. – The men and women in Illinois' athleticsists send a program record of 15 individual qualificators (11 women and four men) at 16 events to the NCAA indoor championships on March 14th to 15th.

The 11 individual women are most in school history, although the four men have been the most since the 2015 season when they also sent four. This status excludes the addition of members of a 4x400m or distance -Medley -relay squad. Only the TOP-16 in their respective events are reflected in these historical display signs.

The 11 women's qualification are also the second most common of every school in the nation for this season behind only Arkansas, the 13th director of routes, Field and Cross Country in the third year Petros Kyprianou The program continues to improve every year when he destroyed his own program record for qualifications, which he set up last season with 12 people, of nine women.

National qualification

WOMEN

Sophia Beckmon (Long jump): Beckmon qualifies for the National Meet, which jumped 6.71 m (22-0 1/4) and No. 4 was sown. Lucie Kienast (Pentathlon): Kienast qualifies for the national meeting with a program record assessment of 4,405 points (4,428 after conversion for flat routes). It is No. 4 and set this brand in its first collegiate pentathlon on January 24th at Fighting Illini Challenge and combined events.

Jordan Kosondy (Weight throw): Kundy qualifies 22.28 m (73-1 1/4) for the National Meet throw and is no. 12.

Phethisang Makhethe (Weight throw): Makhethe qualifies for the National Meet, which set a program record weight throw, 23.11 m (75-10), and No. 5. She earned silver at the big ten indoor championships last weekend.

Bara Sajdokova (High jump): Sajdokova qualified for the national meeting with 1.86 m (6-1 1/4) and is No. 13.

Morgan Smalls (Long jump): Smalls qualifies 6.49 m (21-3 1/2) for the National Meet Springing and is No. 16. She was the team's second goal scorer at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, which made the podium both in the high jump (fourth) and long jump (fifth).

Abria Smith (Shot put): Smith qualified for the National Meet at Big Ten Indoor Championships last weekend and threw 17.87 m (58-7 1/2) and is No. 12. This brand improved its own program record and she took fourth place in competition with him.

Tori Thomas (Pole Vault): Thomas qualifies a UI weapon and program record of 4.57 m (15: 0) at Fighting Illini Challenge and combined events on January 24th. It became No. 7 and was taken third at Big Ten Indoor Championships last weekend.

Rose Yeboah (High jump): Yeboah qualifies on February 7th in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic for the National Meet Clearing A Program Record 1.92 m (6-3 1/2). It is number 5 and took silver at the Big Ten Indoor Championships last weekend.

Men

Jip de Greef (Heptathlon): De Greef qualified for the national meeting with 6,046 points (6,070 a.m. after conversion of Flat Track) at Fighting Illini Challenge and combined events on January 24th to 25th. He is No. 2 and his score is the second best in the program history.

Viktor Morozov (Long jump/triple leap): Morozov is the only one in the team that has qualified for two events. He qualified at the Fighting Illini Challenge and combined events on January 25 in the triple jump of 16.35 m (53-7 3/4). It is the second best brand of the program. Two weeks later, he qualified in the long jump 7.88 m (25-10 1/4), the second best brand of the program, at the Tyson Invitational on February 14th. In the triple jump he was No. 5 and long jump No. 10.

Cody Johnston (Pole Vault): Johnston qualified on February 15 on February 15 at Tyson Invitational Clearing 5.61m (18-4 3/4). He is No. 7 and his brand is the second best in the program history.

Tyler Sudduth (Shot put): Sudduth qualified for the national meeting with 19.73 m (64-8 3/4) at big ten indoor championships last weekend, where he also earned silver. It is No. 8 and its brand is the second largest in the program history.
