Imprisoned florida without papers that are handed over to ice – WFTV

Polk County, Florida – Undocumented immigrants with deportation orders that come across the police in Florida, will be MPs and soldiers on the

The partnership existed in some counties in Florida during the first Trump administration, but Sheriffs announced the final registrations on Monday. The partnership became a prerequisite for Florida's latest special immigration session.

“It only makes sense,” said Bob Gualtieri, Sheriff of Pinellas County, during a press conference on Monday, in which I uploaded half of the 1.4 million deportation orders in Florida to the nationwide crime fight database.

Gualtieri said that the program was falling with the Biden administration, which requires a conviction before ice enters. This made accused criminals the opportunity to go free from prisons – and possibly disappear.

He said he had passed from 400 deportation agreements per year under the Trump administration to only 14 after the first year of the presidency of bidges.

Now the agency will take custody of a prisoner within 48 hours after completing its criminal pension, regardless of whether their punishment has been completed or if the charges are dropped.

Gualtieri and other sheriffs emphasized that the program would only target criminals, but he admitted that something as small as a traffic stop could trigger the process. He and other sheriffs said they had little time to pursue people with laws, even if they are illegal here.

“If you are here with your children … pay your taxes, you are not our priority,” he said.

According to the law of Florida, people who are victims or witnesses of crimes are excluded from the notification of ice. The sheriffs on Monday asked the victims of crime to report without being afraid of being deported.

“The concern that I have for many of my law -like clients are those who sometimes have a bad day, maybe they were in a fight with their spouse and the police were called,” said Orlando, Nayef Mubarak. “As soon as you have released the criminal complaints in Florida in ice fighting, it doesn't matter that you are now in the deportation process.”

Mubarak agreed to the general premise of the program and said that there was hardly a debate about the deportation of people with a criminal register, but it was these gray zone situations that left him.

“I have those with green cards who ask me whether it is certain to go to the grocery store to fly domestically and they are lawful residents,” he said. “The way it focuses on, and the very difficult language about the elimination of people even scary those who are law -over residents who have permission to be here.”
