  • Alex Palou won three titles from the Indycar series, and only one included winning the season start.
  • Indycar All-Timer Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden complete the podium.

Alex Palou begins his search for a third championship in the Indycar series in a row with a win at the Downtown Street Course in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Palou started the 8th place on the way to his first start in St. Pete in St. Pete. In 2022 he took the 2nd place. Palou now has 12 Indycar races.

Indycar Heavy-Wicht Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden complete the podium, and the pole sitter Scott McLaughlin takes 4th place.

Key moment of the race: Palou, the three-time series champion, hit a round of six times a champion at his last station. Palou stormed to a guided tour of more than 5 seconds. Newgarden stormed back mirrors in Palous before ran in the last rounds after drying so that Dixon could get through.

It is Palou's second season opening win. He opened the 2021 season by winning his first championship at Barber on the way to his first championship.

The drivers who run during the box include Armstrong, Herta, Josef Newgarden and Scott Dixon. Dixon and Alex Palou Pit at the end of round 40.

When the Florida car left, Josef Newgarden was shown as the winner, followed by Pato O'Ward and Scott McLaughlin.

However, the team penske drivers (Newgarden and McLaughlin) were later disqualified due to violation of rules in the use of push-to-pass pass, while teammate Will Power was docked. O'Ward was declared third with Power Second and Colton Herta.

By Nathan Brown, Indystar

Racing winner: Scott McLaughlin won this race in 2022, plunged late when he fought for the lead in 2003 and took second place in 2004 before he was disqualified in the push-to-pass saga. After taking third place in the championship in the past two years, the Team Penske driver feels early.

Something you may not expect: Callum ilott I carried out its first on-track test with Prema Racing at the end of January, but a top 15 finish would be a emphatic message that Indycar's latest team is one or two steps before other newer newcomers.
