A disturbing trend has occurred on Israeli Tiktok, with the content creators presenting their family members or friends by asking for specifications for Palestinian children affected by Israel's war against Gaza.

The trend is based on the assumption that sympathy for Palestinian children would be ridiculous or insulting. Content Creators are emerging as someone who collects help for Palestinian children and tries to hold back laughing while his goal is reacting – often with anger, cursing and stimulating rhetoric.

In a viral video, the Israeli influencer Yakir Bar Zohar approaches passers -by on the sidewalk and is looking for donations for hungry Palestinian children only to express a shock when someone is ready to help. He asks if they are sure that they want to donate “to children who will be terrorists”.

Other videos show that teenagers provoke angry answers from parents who curse the idea of helping Palestinian children. A mother explains: “Innocent Gazan children? There is something like that” before they wish them a painful death.

These videos have received thousands of likes and comments, with many welcoming the reactions and rejecting the suffering of children in Gaza.

The trend is in the middle of reports on devastating conditions for children in Gaza. A UNICEF declaration in January estimated that 14,500 children were killed, with thousands being injured or orphaned. Heavy food shortages led to hunger cases, and Israel recently blocked all humanitarian aid for Gaza, since the ceasefire negotiations with Hamas stall.

While the message is spread online, the videos initially celebrated as a humorous videos have drawn criticism as cruel and “disturbing”.
