Investigation of anti -Semitic graffiti on the Longmeadow School in progress

Longmeadow, mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – This week a letter to the parents of Longmeadow was sent to draw her attention to the fact that anti -Semitic graffiti was written in a bathroom on the Williams Middle School. The authorities told us that the words “Heil Hitler” were written in great pressure on the outside of a boy's bathroom stand.

We received a letter that the superintendent sent to the parents after this incident. It was partly: “This act of hate speech is deeply worrying and discouraging. Of course, anti -Semitism, like all forms of racism, bias, hatred and discrimination, is not tolerated. “

Western Mass News passed the Williams Middle School on Thursday, where we spoke to Bob Templeton, who picked up his granddaughter, and he shared his reaction to the news. “Children, they know, write things on the wall, many different things and they don't get a reaction, but we are very sensitive in our society at the moment and I think this is particularly hurtful, and it is a shame that they know that he is sure whoever wrote what they hear, what our society says about it, and it is too bad that it happens,” he said.

Templeton told us that such incidents take care of all 11 of his grandchildren. In the meantime, “I don't think it will work again. I don't think it ever disappeared a few years ago, a few years ago, and it is only continued that our society does not change. I don't think about how you feel or think, or at least don't express it. So if you don't change it, it will continue, ”he added.

The LongMeadow Police Authority informed us that they are currently investigating the situation and, as with every incident in which hate crimes and anti -Semitism are involved, they devote all available resources to collect relevant information in order to identify and responsible. Everyone with information is asked to contact the Longmeadow police.
