The MPs were called to an address on the Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m., “where Gene Hackman (95) and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64 and a dog died,” said the public information officer of the Sheriff, Denise Womack Avila, in one statement.

“At this point, the foul is not suspected as a factor for these deaths, but the exact cause of death was not determined,” added the explanation.

The Sheriff's office informed a reporter from the NBC partner Kob from Albuquerque that the alarm was triggered after a neighbor called the police to carry out a social examination check.

The corpses of Hackman and Arakawa were only officially identified on Thursday morning (2:30 a.m. ET).

Hackman was flown in the hospital after driving a car in 2012 when he drove to the Florida Keys, but escaped with minor injuries.
