Knoxville, tenn. (Wvlt) – According to the Knoxville police authority, a partnership program between several local, state and federal law enforcement agencies has led to an arrest of a man.

Scott Erland from KPD announced a press release on Friday: KPD Detectives and agents for investigations for Ministry of Homeland Protection and Ryan Patrick Garrett arrested 40-year-old Ryan Patrick Garrett on Thursday. Garrett was arrested for the purposes of an illegal sexual act due to a federal complaint about coercion or temptation.

Garrett's arrest was the product of an investigation, which was led by the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, said Erland. This investigation showed that Garrett made plans to meet a 12-year-old for sexual activities.

This task force for internet crimes against children is a partnership between 74 state and local authorities and law enforcement authorities of the federal government.

Garrett was instructed to the Knox County's prison.
