From display upgrades to a new chipset and refined design elements, the iPhone 17 is a solid successor to the iPhone 16 series. Let's take a closer look at what rumors suggest about the design, the display, the chipset, the camera and the battery of the upcoming iPhone 17 series.

Larger display?

One of the most important changes that have been rumored is the larger display on the standard -iPhone 17. Reports show that Apple increases the screen size from the current 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, which corresponds to the iPhone 16 Pro. The step seems to meet the growing demand for larger screens because more user media consume on their telephones. In addition, Apple will probably introduce the promotion technology into the entire iPhone 17 line -up, which means that all models receive a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which makes scrolls and video playback more smooth. Rumors also indicate the use of an anti-reflective coating in order to improve the visibility outdoors and give the display experience more value.

For the Pro Max model, Apple seems to stay on a 6.9-inch display, while the rumored iPhone 17 Air could replace the iPhone Plus series and be equipped with a 6.6-inch screen.

Design changes for iPhone 17 Pro models

While the StandardiPhone 17 is supposed to record the current iPhone 16 design, Apple may be planning some new changes for the Pro models. Pulled CAD reserves suggest a new rectangular camera -bar design for the iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro. This updated camera module, which supposedly extends the width of the phone, is expected to give the back a cleaner and more modern look with rounded corners.

Interestingly, it is rumored that the iPhone 17 Air is about 2 mm thinner than the current iPhone 16 Pro, which has been one of the slimest models recently. However, the standard iPhone 17 can keep its dual camera setup and the overall design similar to the iPhone 16, including the recently introduced USB-C connection and the action button.

New A19 chipset, better thermal

As with any iPhone start, the performance will receive a thrust with the introduction of the new A19 chipset from Apple. This new chip is expected to supply the iPhone 17 series with electricity together with 8 GB RAM, which brings faster power and better energy efficiency. While the standard iPhone 17 and the rumored Slim model could receive the A19 chip, the Pro models probably offer an A19 Pro chip for an even higher performance.

In addition, Apple should work on improved thermal management for the iPhone 17 series and contain a steam chamber cooling system to prevent the device from overheating in intensive tasks such as gaming or video recording before overheating.

Main cameras upgrades

On the iPhone 17 there may be a jump in the camera technology, especially on the front. Lecks indicate that Apple will equip the iPhone 17 with a 24-megapixel front camera, a big leap from the 12-megapixel lens for current models. This should lead to sharper, more detailed selfies. On the back, the iPhone 17 will probably hold a 48-megapixel main camera, but will not contain the 5-fold tele zoom, which is expected to remain exclusively for the PRO models.

In addition, there is a whisper of a mechanical aperture for at least one iPhone 17 model with which users can adjust how much light goes into the lens – a function that would significantly improve the versatility of the camera under different lighting conditions. Pro models could maintain your three-lens setup, whereby the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers a combination of 48 megapixel width, ultra-wide and tele cameras.

Battery, shop

Although concrete details on the battery capacity are still scarce, the increased screen size indicates that the iPhone 17 contains a larger battery than the iPhone 16 Pro with a battery of 3,582 mAh. This could lead to a better battery life for the users. On the front of the loading side, Leaks indicate Apple, possibly to improve the iPhone 17 series to support the 35 -W charging. This would offer faster loading times compared to previous models, although it still remains behind some Android competitors.
