Islands day after day: Boqvist in, Mayfield Out vs Rangers

Defender Adam Boqvist returns to the New York Islander line -up on Tuesday evening and returns after he was equipped as a healthy scratch on Sunday. Scott Mayfield will come from the line -up in a corresponding step.

Head coach Patrick Roy said that he would like to add an element of speed to the Swedish defender, who was thrown on a pairing with Adam Pelech and also repeats some repetitions with one of the power play units of the islanders. Boqvist has a goal in five games with the islanders.

“He moves the puck well, gets in the hurry and will also help the power game,” said Roy. “In all the games he played, I really felt that he played very well for us, so good for him to have this chance.”

Mayfield had missed four games with an injury with a lower assault, but played against Dallas in the 4: 3 defeat on Sunday. Mayfield has seven points in 51 games this season (2G, 5a).

“It was difficult,” said Roy about the decision to scratch Mayfield. “I had a good conversation with Scotty and we talked about how we would like to see him play. He didn't play much, so I think it would be good for him to go on the ice and practice, and when the time comes, we will bring it back into the line -up and I am sure that he is ready. “

While Noah Dobson is entitled to return to the lineup, the defender will miss his 11TH Just game. Mike Reilly also took part in his first contact exercises during the morning skate on Tuesday, which marked further progress in his recovery, but there is still no schedule for his return.

Martin on ir

Matt Martin was put on IR with an injury to the lower body, the team said on Tuesday morning. Martin has an assist and 68 hits in 24 games this season, but has not played since January 16.
