Jelly Roll returns to the Antioch High School after shooting in January

Rapper Jelly Roll has returned to his old Alma Mater, Tennessees Antioch High School, to visit students after a tragic shooting incident that took place on their premises last month.

The incident took place on January 22nd when a 17-year-old student opened the fire in the school's cafeteria shortly after 11 a.m. The shootout led to the death of a 16-year-old student and the perpetrator, while two other students were injured.

Over a month after the tragedy, one of the school's most famous graduates returned to their old corridors, with Jelly Roll (also known as Jason Deford) on Tuesday (February 25th) with the students (February 25). According to a contribution by Metro Nashville Public Schools on Instagram, Jelly Roll visited the tragedy with students and employees. Complete details of what was discussed were not made available to the public.

“Thank you very much, Jelly Roll, that she turned to the Antioch community and in a difficult time a certain comfort,” concluded the mail. “We appreciate your support!”

Jelly Roll is one of the best -known students who attended the school who are 12 miles southeast of downtown Nashville. In addition to the former athletes and former Republican Senator of North Carolina, Thom Tillis, Yelawolf is the only other remarkable entertainer that went into the halls of the Antioch High School.

The short return to his old school is not the first time that Jelly Roll has been back in recent years. In May 2024, Jelly Roll visited the Antioch High School as part of the Save the Music Foundation, spoke to the class of music technology teacher Robert “Rock” Kennedy and gave the students feedback on their own compositions. In addition, the singer spoke to former teachers and addressed and played for current students at a meeting.

Jelly Roll himself has asserted itself as a massive success story in recent years and has found widespread fame with his ninth album 2023's widespread fame Whitsitt chapel (himself named after a chapel in Antioch that he previously visited), which reached the Billboard 200 No. 3.
