Jennifer Hudson's court of court with friend Common goes wrong with the NBA game.

Jennifer Hudson's Courtside Date Night with Common took an unexpected turn when she was hit by a stray basketball on March 4 during an NBA game in Madison Square Garden.

The 43-year-old Egot winner visited New York Knick's game against Golden State Warriors with her friend Rapper Common. During the second quarter, Knick Guard Miles fell “Deice” McBride for a ball-of-bounds ball that collided with Hudsons.

The basketball seemed to bounce off Hudson's head, and during common tried to protect her, he accidentally cut off her glasses instead. McBride quickly checked the couple when the announcements playfully called the failed attempt to protect Common.

The incident quickly became viral, with fans react online. “This boy does not protect a damn thing,” joked one person while another wrote: “She expected that she would catch the ball, but he didn't.”

Despite the moment, the couple remains strong after he confirmed their relationship in early 2024 after years of speculation. Their connection dates from 2014 when they took part in a charity event together, and they were later discovered at the NBA All-Star game 2020 before working on the 2022 film “Ateme”.

Common appeared in “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in January 2024, brought flowers and described Hudson as “one of the most beautiful people I have ever met”.

Hudson, an Egot winner, continues her career success, while Common only prevents a Tony Prize from joining her in the Elite Group.
