John Beargroase Small Dog Marathon Movements begin the location due to warmer conditions

Duluth, Minn. (Northern News now) – John Beargreas Sled Dog Marathon is now starting in two ports on Sunday.

The move takes place after unusually warm weather, which affects the snow packaging at the original starting point at Billy in Duluth.

The new starting line is located north of two ports. It can be reached by driving on Highway 2 on the North Shore State Trail in Township Road 24.

Beargreet organizers say that the change should ensure a safe and competitive path for Musers and their teams.

With the change, the marathon needs volunteers for road crossings to protect Musher and spectators during the race.

The race was originally planned for January 26th and was postponed to Sunday due to the lack of snow.
