John Lynch: Debo Samuel asked for a fresh start. I think we will honor that

“You know, still not interested,” Lynch began when he was asked about Samuel. “But after these financial restrictions and some discussions that we have held with Debo – it is something we throw with it. We are good with Debo. He asked for a fresh start and I think we will honor.

“I don't like to see great players -and he is a great player, I think often one of my favorite -draft picks in my time. He plays games. He plays groundbreaking games. Everything is good. But at some point the time happens and he asked that we don't always – there are contracts and things. But it probably makes sense, so at least we allow him to look. And we have conversations, we will see how it works. “

The 49s have had discussions about the trade with Samuel in the past, but nothing came up with them.

While Lynch understands the origins of Samuel's trade request this low season, he decided to keep this information internally.

For this purpose there was Current reporting These teams waited whether Samuel would be shortened if no trade was drawn up. This is a possibility, but Lynch closes the door on Samuel, who may return to the team.

“There is always a scenario – I learned that too,” said Lynch.

Nevertheless, Lynch is challenging to let a player like Samuel go.

“There is a lot of love there. There is a lot of respect there. There are many experiences together, ”said Lynch. “It is difficult to let go. But as I said, time happens and if it makes sense for both sides, give him at least one chance. And so is there [we’re] at.”
