Jose Mourinho: Fenerbahce boss halved four games suspension

Jose Mourinho halved his four-match suspension by the Turkish Football Association after a successful attraction of his club Fenerbahce.

The 62-year-old Portuguese manager has also reduced his fine of 1.6 million Turkish Lira (35,000 GBP) to 558,000 (12,200 GBP).

Mourinho's club said on Thursday that he would take the penalties after he was lodged against the local rival Galatasaray for two separate disciplinary affairs after the 0-0 draw on Monday.

The TFF said that it would punish him for “his derogatory and offensive statements to the Turkish referee” and because he accused “Turkish football of chaos and unrest with insulting and insulting statements from both the Turkish football community and with all Turkish referees”.

The match against Galatasaray was achieved by Slovenian Slavko Vincic after both clubs applied for a foreign civil servant to take on the responsibility of the game.

However, the fourth official was Turkish and Mourinho repeated his criticism of Turkish referees during his press conference after the game.

Mourinho will miss the game against Antalyaspor on Sunday after he has already played a Turkish cup game against Gaziatep FK.

The consequences of the game on Monday continued on Friday when Mourinho submitted a lawsuit against Galatasaray for 1,907,000 Turkish Lira – about £ 41,000 – after the club had accused him of filing racist statements.

Mourinho, who said that the Galatasaray bank had jumped “like monkeys”, said that her claims were “completely removed from the context”.

Mourinhos Fenerbahce are second in the Super Lig of Türkiye, six points behind the Galatasaray on the Istanbul page.
