“I know that Jack Butland made three fantastic parades. I know that, I think there is a punishment, but after this performance about the referee, I don't think it is ethical.

“The chances that we didn't have to score. The dynamics in midfield was not good. We defensively made incredible mistakes. We never checked it.

“They defended a lot with the block very low, a good and dangerous counterattack. So we deserve the punishment of this result.

“There is no way that the tie is over. Tonight it was a great result for us, but it is only half -time.

“I have great respect for Jose as a manager, as I mentioned that he is one of the best ever, and when you look at your team, he has players who are really dangerous and can really influence the games so that we are not in the past eight years.

“I would be an absolute idiot if I thought that because, as I said, I have respect.

“I thought it was a really good performance by my team. They gave me everything I asked from the beginning of the week.

“We went differently than what we are used to.

“I thought tonight, sometimes they looked a real threat in the future. I thought defensively, the boys put their bodies on the line. Overall, it was a brilliant result.

“I said that to the players. We will rest for a few days because they worked so hard tonight. Then we will make ourselves a big game for us next Thursday.”
