Kansas City is preparing for the 51st annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

We are ready for the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Monday and honor from the Irish traditions and the community spirit of the Kansas City.

One of the greatest honored traditions of the Kansas City is almost there. Tomorrow the Kansas City Saint Patrick's Day Parade will take place for his 51st year. This is a KC institution that attracts thousands of people and families to Broadway. And the organizers hope for a large turnout this year. Of course, a significantly smaller turnout at the Parade Day in the Union Station was likely to have been created last year. But they know that people in the parade were determined to keep tradition alive. Unfortunately, you know, if we let this kind of people lead to our lives, we will never do anything again, do you know? So I won't let her win. So we decided to continue doing this. And and it's a family tradition. However, the police were available to ensure that everything went smoothly last year and the parade continued without any major problems. Okay, let's prepare you for tomorrow. Erin Gebhardt is at the Parade Committee and occurs a big day. Welcome back. Thank you for having me. YES. NO PROBLEM. How does everything work here on the eve of the parade? It's great. You know that is a crazy time, but we are so excited for tomorrow. We already had a great weekend when we were just ready, street shields and the tri -colored flags on the route. So we are excited. YES. Pull out all stops. I know that this is one of the greatest celebrations for Saint Patrick's Day in the country. What can people expect this year? Well, as always, you can expect a lot of fun and firmly. We have a great series of floats and entries this year. Many really great families who are every year a year. A lot of music and dance, Irish dance, all kinds of different dancing. And this year we actually have a lot of brass bands, which is fun. Okay, nice. And the traditions along Westport will also happen, right? Always. You know that we Westport is our present sponsor. You are a great partner. You have a really funny party every year, as are all shops in Broadway. Tell us about the topic this year. Well, I'm very excited about it. It is Irish wit and wisdom, and one of the funny things is that this should actually be our topic in 2020, which we do not like to remember. 2020, right? However, we just loved bringing it back because we believe that we are pretty funny and funny, and we think we are wise whether we are or not, right? Why not put the full exhibition for the entire city of Kansa? EXACTLY. Who is the big marshal this summer? So the large marshal is Ronan Collins. He is a dear friend of mine, so I'm very excited for him. But he is someone he was. He came to Kansas City from Dublin in the 90s and was a staple in the Irish community. He was a large part of or really the reason to bring comedy to the Irish Festival of Kansas City. Hence the Irish joke. And he is really only a large part of bringing the Irish comedy to Kansas City. And many only different entertainers from Ireland. Last year we talked a lot about security and security, of course because of what had only happened at the Union Station a month earlier. What conversations have you had with the police since then and what can people expect tomorrow? You know, I think people can expect to come down, bring their families, have a great time, enjoy the weather. You know, last year grew great. It went really well. We have an excellent relationship with law enforcement and we always have it. And we will continue to be. There is always a strong police presence. A solemn note This is the first parade since Sean Brady's death last year, which is just before the Irish festival. And we know that this too has changed these plans. Such a large part of our local Irish community. Are you expecting any tribute tomorrow? What should we expect? We do it. I know that the whistle and drum corps of Saint Andrew plan to appreciate it on the judge's level of evaluation, and I would be ready to bet that we will see a little more of it. Through. We do not know that the plans of all for his entries, but I would not be surprised if we saw some things very quickly. I know today and tomorrow, the last few days for the Green Food Drive with harvest. YES. Can people help? You can go to Casey Irish Parade.com online and donate there. We have done this food drive for harvesting for many, many, many years. More than 30 years. And they are a wonderful partner. And who doesn't love the work that the harvest? IN ORDER. So go online. We will check it. Thanks Erin. See you tomorrow. IN ORDER. The 51st annual parade of Saint Patrick's Day of Kansas City will take place south at 11 a.m. in Linwood and Broadway tomorrow to make their way south.
