Struthers – Karen Sue Fire, 79, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Karen was born on December 21, 1945 in Brownton, W.Va., as the daughter of the late Robert and Ada Snyder Tait. As a child, she moved to Mahoning Valley and completed the Campbell Memorial High School before visiting the Youngstown College.

Karen spent a large part of her working life as an employee for several retail stores in the Youngstown area, most recently at Kohl's in the Boardman Park shops before retiring.

She was a committed member of Christ, the good Shepherd Parish-St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell.

Karen, a talented baker, was known for her delicious cookies and kolache. She also had a deep love of nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors where her green thumb seemed brightly in her beautiful flower gardens. Her family and friends will always remember their generosity, especially their dedication to them. She appreciated the time she had spent with her children, grandchildren and big dogs, and she particularly enjoyed baby and share the life of her grandchildren.

She will always be remembered as a strong woman who was a guiding light, a moral compass and a woman who always asks her family in front of herself-not to help, but always to help others.

Karen is survived by her four children Susan K. (Anthony) Elmo from Canfield, Joseph W. (Ann) Feuer from Lowellville, Patricia L. (Mike) Fire of Struthers and Lynda S. Fire of Struthers; Three grandchildren, Katie (Andrew Testa) Nagel, Jessica (Frank Rondinelli) Nagel and Harry Murray; Two great -grandchildren, Christopher Fisher and Stella Testa; Two sisters, Dorothy Gender of Struthers and Kathy boss of Butler, PA; And her sister -in -law Alice Tait from Struthers.

Her 19 -year -old husband Harry C. Fire, whom she married on July 31, 1965 and who died on February 23, 1984; A brother, Robert Tait; and three sister and sister -in -law, Ann (ed.) Brower, PEG (Robert) Tingler and Betty (Jack) gender.

Family and friends can call on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm and from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025, at the funeral home of Davidson-Becker, 11 Spring St. in Struthers.

On Monday at 10.15 a.m., a prayer service will take place in the funeral company, followed by a mass of Christian funeral at 11 a.m. in Christ the Good Shepherd-St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed St. in Campbell, with the reigning Rev. Thomas Kraszewski.

The funeral takes place at the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.
