Keeping in East Chicago: a teenager, another for murder, says the police, says the police

A 17-year-old boy was shot in East Chicago on Friday morning, and a 16-year-old boy is charged with murder, the authorities said.

What we know:

The incident occurred at 11.16 a.m. in the 3700 block of the Dahlia Street. Shot spotters alerted the police on eight laps that were fired in the area.

Officials arrived and found a male victim at 3804 Erie Court and Commonwealth near an apartment complex. He no longer reacted and declared dead at the crime scene, said the East Chicago police.

No further details about the shooting were published.

On March 15, Detectives, according to the East Chicago police, were accused against a 16-year-old boy for murder to 17-year-old Justin Charleston.

The Lake County's Coroner's office said Charleston died of gunshot wounds and his death was ruled as a murder.

An autopsy is planned for Monday, March 17th.
