Kentucky Fire Crews provide more fire

Madison County, Ky. (Wkyt) – On Tuesday, the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department fought two fires in the county and assisted another in Estill County.

The volunteer firefighter Keith Everitt said that they expect more fires if they prepare for strong winds.

“This is basically our Smokey The Bärenschild, and this should let the public know that we have a fire,” said Everitt.

One of the fire to which Red Lick reacted was a grass fire on Beach Grove Road.

“The floor is totally wet, but the grass above is actually dry and burns especially with sage grass.”

The neighbor who called the fire said it was his first time that he saw a fire in his neighborhood in his 30 years.

“I actually tried to stamp it out, but they could stamp it and it would catch it back because the wind blew so hard that it would burn back straight away,” said Rose.

Rose said he hoped his neighbors follow the incineration restrictions.
