Harrison Ford will no longer appear at the 2025 Academy Awards after being diagnosed with shingles, Entertainment Weekly reports. The 82-year-old actor, who was previously announced as a presenter, is said to be resting following the diagnosis.

Shingles, caused by the varicella-zoster virus, results in a painful rash and is the same virus responsible for chickenpox, according to the Mayo Clinic. Ford received his diagnosis yesterday and withdrew from the ceremony this morning.

The actor recently attended the 2025 SAG Awards, where he shared a lighthearted moment with his Shrinking co-star Jessica Williams. Ford, an Oscar nominee for Witness, was set to present alongside stars like Dave Bautista, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, and Samuel L. Jackson.
