Knights of Columbus Fish Pommes begin this Friday

With the arrival of Lent, the Knights of Columbus published their schedule for fishing fries for 2025. March 7th to April 11th, fries will take place in six different locations in Custer County.

Paul Holland said that work for every fish roast begins in the morning through preparation.

“Usually there are three or four of us who start early, around 9 a.m. when we prepare things for the website. Then we get fifteen, ten to fifteen people who appear to cook the fish and serve the fish, ”said Holland.

Revenue from the fish fries, which take place on every date from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., support various participations from Columbus, including Santa Cop, a scholarship, hoop shoot and a newer fundraiser The Group Speerheads.

“We give every person or family a baby bottle on Mother's Day and ask you to fill you with your change. Then we take it back on Father's Day and it goes to the birth centers in the state, I think there are 21 of them, ”said Holland.

This year's March 14th in Broken Bow will double if the Catholic daughters bake the sale. The Fry in Ansley on April 11th will go to the Ryan family, who lost her home in a fire in February.

“We have a pretty good dinner for what we calculate. We have the fish, shrimp, potato salad, cole herb salad, macaroni and cheese for the children. We even have a three -bean salad. Drinks. So it works pretty well, ”said Holland.
